On March 20, 2025, we successfully hosted an impactful Capacity Strengthening Session on Responding to Sexual Violence Cases. This vital training brought together police officers, prosecutors, and lawyers in Abeokuta to enhance their expertise in handling sexual violence cases with professionalism, sensitivity, and survivor-centered approaches.
We were privileged to have distinguished guests whose insights enriched the discussions. Mr. Odeyale Bolanriwa, NBA Chairman, Abeokuta Branch, delivered a compelling keynote address. Mrs. Toyin Soiniki, Deputy Director, Director of Public Prosecutions, Ministry of Justice, shared key strategies for effective prosecution. Mrs. Adekemi Adebo, Secretary, Judicial Service Commission, led an enlightening session on case management, while Mrs. Nwokoro, Secretary, FIDA Ogun State, represented FIDA Chairperson, Taiwo Olusesi, and contributed to discussions on legal frameworks and survivor advocacy.
By equipping justice advocates with the right knowledge and skills, we are taking bold steps toward a more responsive legal system, one that prioritizes survivors, ensures accountability, and upholds the rule of law.
